on the whole staff were friendly apart from a very poor consierge who just couldnt be bothered and was quite rude. lobby and bar had big issue with little flies everywhere from plants and seemed to know they had this issue but did nothing. also, luckily we werea group of devoted animal lovers, because we were visited in the bar by 2-3 little mice! yes mice- so overall despite good location and rooms i cannot call it a 5 star hotel.

we booked the swissotel because we had booked to go to watch the Lion King at the Lyceum. After checking in we went for a walk to see where everything was located and were amazed to find that the theatre was only a 5 minute walk away. It was a luxury treat for my 40th birthday and my husband had wanted me to have the best and I think that I definately did.

Swissotel The Howard has great views over the River Thames. The rooms are very specious and comfortable. Temple tube station is just opposite the hotel but you are just 10 minutes walk from Covent Garden. The members of staff were very friendly and helpful. Their Lounge called MAUVE is also worth recommending as it serves a magnificent afternoon. The homemade scones with clotted Jam were delicious!!
