individual sense of style, from a quirky brilliance to timeless elegance.
Every apartment is unique, but whether you’re in a contemporary, under the

metal veil, or in a high-ceilinged traditional room with dark fumed oak
and classic grey stone, you know that each detail has been attended to for
a five-star finish. From the Egyptian-cotton sheets to the coffee-machines
in every room, your comfort is our top priority.

Feature Rooms:
For a taste of real grandeur and elegance, why not treat yourself to a stay
in one of our feature suites located in the original Edwardian public rooms.
Glass partitions allow you to appreciate the full ceiling height and sense of
space, while innovative bespoke furniture for kitchen and bathroom preserve
the original plasterwork and elegant dimensions undisturbed. A fabulous
blend of old and new, these luxurious suites are both a statement of style
and an indulgent pleasure.
De Montfort Suite:
The breath-taking signature design, this suite takes full advantage of the glorious architecture and interior of this very special Grade II listed building. The original Edwardian architects designed a magnificent public hall for concerts and gatherings with exquisitely decorated plaster-work, heraldic leaded windows and even statues carved by the sculptor Henry Poole. This gorgeous room has now been transformed into a spectacular suite of a truly outstanding quality.
A triple height ceiling and all-glass room dividers keep the sense of air and magnificence which the original architects envisaged. The huge arched windows flood the room with light, splashed with a touch of rich colour from the stained glass panels which commemorating moments in the local area’s history – including the Arms of The De Montfort family, after whom the room is named. The two plaster statues by sculptor Henry Poole take centre stage: Truth and Hapiness – highly appropriate for the celebration and enjoyment the room inspires.
The Spacious open-plan room provides dining for up to 20, a sitting area and study, while a staircase rises to the secluded bathroom and bedroom, simply divided off with glass panels to create a seamlessly integrated whole. Two bathrooms ensure the suite is also perfect for entertaining guests, while the state of the art kitchen has been furnished to professional standards. For the ultimate in private dining, the Chef Patron can create one of his exceptional tasting menus there, served just for you and your guests.

The Viajante Restaurant:
Some people are born with a restless passion for adventure – they are the wanderers, the ‘viajantes’. This destination restaurant is a mecca for foodies and the perfect place for those celebrating a special occasion. Nuno’s dishes open a new vista in cuisine – delicious, exciting, unforgettable. To go on a journey with Viajante is to find a restaurant you’ll want to return to again and again. Nuno Mendes has been a pioneer explorer in gastronomy, engaged in a passionate quest for the most delicious flavours, the finest ingredients, the most innovative techniques. Nuno has garnered lavish accolades from the most jaded of reviewers and introduced diners to his magical blend of authentic ingredients and perfectly executed cooking. Viajante takes the path less travelled. Its perfectly-balanced tasting menus combine the simple with the extravagant – radishes grown in a local garden pique the appetite for iberico pork belly crumbed on scallops in mushroom veloute, a beetroot sorbet clears the palette for melt-in-the-mouth beef from a smallholding in North Wales. ‘flawlessly presented, exactingly executed and wildly innovative’ Metro Recetly awarded a Michelin Star
The Viajante Bar:
Featuring a fantastical chandelier art-installation, this stylish but welcoming
bar marries contemporary flair with timeless elegance. Relax at one of the
intimate tables, admire the specially commissioned art works or watch the
bartender mix up one of our deliciously decadent cocktails. With its stunning
design, soft lighting and high-quality wine and cocktail list, Viajante bar
attracts an eclectic crowd, from guests enjoying a pre-dinner drink to people
coming home from the City who appreciate Town Hall’s sophisticated but
relaxed atmosphere.
The Corner Room :
This award-winning chef Nuno Mendes launches The Corner Room (in May 2011), a bistro-style dining experience at the Town Hall Hotel. The intimate, 30 cover restaurant tucked away in the corner of the former Bethnal Green Town Hall will offer informal dining in a stylish space with dishes created by Mendes.
Since Mendes opened Viajante in March 2010, he has received wide spread acclaim from critics and foodies alike. His latest venture further demonstrates Mendes’ passion for food with his simple yet exquisite dishes. Offering a simple and affordable menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, dishes will change weekly, enabling Viajante-trained chefs to constantly create and inspire using fresh seasonal ingredients under the guidance of Mendes.
Designed to reflect a Parisian bistro with dark wood floors, a vintage spiral staircase and an installation of suspended lights, The Corner Room will be an ideal place for low-key dinner locally. ‘The Corner Room is a hidden gem within the urban landscape of East London. We are friendly, affordable and want to grow nicely with the neighbourhood’ says Mendes.
Pool, Gym, & Spa:
A delight to relax in, but easily long enough for a satisfying swim, the pool
area was designed in shades of white marble with touches of brass to recall
the elegance and charm of a traditional spa. Natural light falls from the
roof and catches the reflective tiles which line the pool, turning the water
a shimmering green, blue and copper as the day progresses.
If you’re looking to let off some steam after a long day’s work, our state of
the art fitness centre has everything you need. Conveniently situated in
the basement of the hotel, but naturally lit by a large skylight, we have a
full range of equipment in a glass-walled gym that overlooks the 14 metre
swimming pool. Showers and changing facilities are provided for both
men and women.
If you would like to arrange an in-room massage or facial, reception can
book a spa treatment for you.
The Art Project:
Town Hall Hotel Apartments is a triumphant marriage of the best of
old and new. To celebrate Bethnal Green’s role as the heart of London’s
artistic community, we ran an open commission scheme to challenge up
and coming young artists to create works for the new hotel. Over 175
artists who live and work in the area applied, of these ten were given funds
to create a site-specific proposal – in itself a significant piece of support.
The final judging panel included Artadmin’s Head of Advisory Services,
Manick Govinda, and Iwona Blazwick, Director of Whitechapel Gallery
who have chosen five winning artists to make their proposals a reality.
On display in the foyer, stairwells, restaurant, bar and banqueting rooms,
these art installations represent a concentration of the talent of the East End,
widely recognised as London’s avant-garde artistic heartland.
