Reception.
Accompanied by the sounds of classical music or jazz, the reception staff welcomes guests 24 hours a day and will guide you throughout your stay. They will gladly book your taxis, theatre tickets and restaurants, and can recommend the top sidewalk cafés and wine bars. The reception team speaks French, English, German and Spanish, depending on the day. They are able to accommodate disabled persons. A lift offers easy access to any floor, and fax and photocopy machines are also available.
Luggage room.
The reception desk has a luggage room to look after your baggage so you can enjoy Paris or work without constraint, from the moment you arrive until you depart. Pick up your luggage right before leaving for the train station or the airport!
Breakfast.
Breakfast is served between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, with delicious Parisian Viennese pastries fresh from the baker’s oven. You can choose between a continental breakfast and a buffet . The continental breakfast can be served in your room. For very early departures, we offer a hot beverage. Please note that the breakfast room will be under refurbishment as from 5th January 09 and breakfast will be served instead in the guests bedrooms.
Lounge.
The very cosy lounge offers a pleasant living space to enjoy a drink while reading and relaxing. Art books on Paris, magazines and tourist guides are available for your enjoyment.
The surroundings
We love this authentic and lively district, the “Saint Martin Canal village”, including numerous hewn stone buildings dating from the Haussmann period and small, trendy restaurants that are often packed in the evening.
To the east: our quiet, pleasant street, emerging onto the Saint Martin Canal, which was established 200 years ago by order of King Charles X. Traffic is prohibited on its banks on Sundays; crowds of picnickers come to this agreeable, airy place on summer evenings. The canal’s bridges, locks and sidewalk cafés complete this enchanting picture of a perfect Parisian evening.
To the north: just above the hotel, a beautiful, flower-filled park – Square Villemin – was established in the former Recollets Convent. This convent, a lovely 18th century building, has become an artists' residence and cultural centre. This park is the perfect spot for a nap on the grass, or taking the time to read on the lawn.
To the south of the hotel, Place de la Republique heralds the Grands Boulevards and the Theatre District. Just beyond, you enter the Marais, the historic heart of Paris.
Finally, to the west of the Hotel, you’ll find Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord, which despite their proximity do not disturb the character of the Saint Martin Canal Village.
