Orange is a town as well as administrative division in the department of Vaucluse in southern France. Located just 21 km away from Avignon on the northern direction, it is considered to be the warmest French city. Orange was founded in 35BC by the second Gallica Roman legion who named the region Arausio. Orange is known for being home to some of the impressive Roman architecture and theatre. Some of the arches and theaters were declared UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Triumphal Arch of Orange dating back to the reign of Augustus is a unique masterpiece of Roman architecture.
